Visit the travel doctor at least 6 weeks before you leave

Many have one or more health problems while overseas. This can ruin a holiday and cause time off work. A good preparation of your trip, long or short, is therefore important. The doctors of the Geraldton Medical Group working at the Travel Clinic are happy to advice about health risks, vaccinations and medications before you leave.

A travel consultation takes more time than most people think because the advice needs to be individualised, and there are many ways to prevent health problems overseas. Certain vaccinations need some time before they become effective, therefore it is advisable to book an appointment at least six weeks before your leave.

Late vaccinations are better than no vaccinations

Have you booked a last minute trip? Remember, it is never too late to get travel health advice: late vaccinations are better than no vaccinations.
