What is a travel clinic?
A specialised clinic where you can get necessary vaccinations, prescriptions, travel items and health education for traveling abroad.
How much do the vaccines cost?
It is true that costs of vaccines can add up depending on the trip, but it is important to protect your health while traveling. Vaccinations and medications are stocked and dispensed on site, saving time and money. At your appointment, we will review the reasons to consider the various vaccines, and you will have the opportunity to decide what you want to take. There are few vaccines required, but other vaccines are recommended to help you stay healthier during and after your trip.
What do I need for my trip?
You may need to update your routine vaccinations (e.g. tetanus, polio, whooping cough) and some other vaccines are recommended to protect your health when you travel (e.g. hepatitis, flu, rabies). Some countries require yellow fever vaccination.
Can I have a malaria shot?
There currently are no vaccines for malaria. You may need a prescription for medication (pills) to help prevent malaria. The particular type of prescription depends on exactly where you are going and your health history. We will discuss that during your appointment.
Can you tell me what I need, and I'll go to my doctor to have the injections?
To know exactly what you will need, we will need to know your health and vaccination histories and details about your trip. This is not a quick matter that can be discussed over the phone. We also provide specialised information about the countries you will visit as well as tips on how to stay healthier while you travel. You will receive a free copy of our Traveller’s Pocket Medical Guide. This 52 page passport sized booklet contains vital health information, includes the International Certificate of Vaccination. If you wish to schedule an appointment, we will be happy to see you. To book an appointment, please call: 08 9920 8175

I heard that cholera and yellow fever are required.
The yellow fever vaccine is required for some countries and must be given at official vaccination sites such as the Travel Clinic Geraldton. At this time, cholera vaccine is not officially required, but you should discuss situations with the doctor in which it may be "unofficially" required. Also, some other vaccines may be recommended, we are happy to review all of that at the appointment.
